Two local students from the Lewis and Clark Natural Resources District (LCNRD) received recognition for posters submitted for the National Association Conservation Districts (NACD) poster contest. The theme for 2020 was “Where would BEE Without Pollinators?”. LCNRD winners were Colton Heimes and Kiersten Hans of Wynot Schools. These posters were sent in for the state contest to be judged and if voted as state winner would go onto the National Contest.
LCNRD notifies area teachers in August about the contest and allows them to introduce it in the classroom. Individual students can participate outside of the classroom by submitting their artwork to their local Natural Resources District. The 2021 poster theme is “Healthy Forests = Healthy Communities” For more information on the poster contest, contact LCNRD at 402-254-6758 or email lcnrd@hartel.net.
