Each spring the Lewis and Clark Natural Resources District (LCNRD) distribute tree seedlings and provides planting services for conservation purposes such as windbreaks, shelter belts, and wildlife habitat. Seedling orders are accepted from October through March. Planning assistance is available through local Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) offices for preparing tree planting plans that meet your conservation needs.

This year, seedling trees, shrubs, and plants are $1.20 per seedling, orders must be in lots of 25 per species, and $30 per bundle. A small acreage package is available which includes 3 Blue Spruce, 2 Bur Oak, 2 Hackberry, 5 Chokeberry, 5 American Plum, and 3 Redosier Dogwood at a cost of $35 per package.

For more information contact the local NRCS office in Cedar, Knox, or Dixon Counties or the LCNRD office at (402) 254-6758. Scan the QR Code for access to the LCNRD Tree Conservation page for more details.
