LCNRD THANKS OUTGOING DIRECTORS AND WILL BE WELCOMING THREE NEW FACES TO THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS

Eleven elected directors guide the Lewis & Clark Natural Resources District (LCNRD) activities. Directors represent five subdistricts, with two directors serving from each subdistrict and one serving at-large. The directors are elected by the voters living within each subdistrict and serve four-year terms, with 5 to 6 seats for election every two years.
Of the six seats up for re-election, three will see a change in representation. Marcel Kramer (Subdistrict 3), Carolyn Heine (Subdistrict 4), and Curtis Armstrong (Subdistrict 5) will be stepping down after serving 27, 8, and 25 years, respectively. The LCNRD staff, Board of Directors, and community members would like to thank Marcel, Carolyn, and Curtis for all their years of service protecting and conserving LCNRD’s natural resources. New members elected and bringing new insights to the district are Scott Kinkaid (Subdistrict 3), Ryan Loecker (Subdistrict 4), and Tyler Schweers (Subdistrict 5) began their duties in January.
Scott Kinkaid has been farming South of Pleasant Valley since the early ‘80s. He grew up conventional tilling and noticed all the dirt at the bottom of the hill. He has since switched to no-till and integrated some cover crops into his operation. Kinkaid looks forward to learning more about the district and contributing his farming knowledge to the LCNRD Board of Directors.
Ryan Loecker has been a lifelong Cedar County resident and lives in the Menominee area. Loecker has been farming since 2001 and owns Highstreet Insurance and Financial Services. He looks forward to bringing his business experience to the LCNRD Board of Directors.
Tyler Schweers resides in Ponca and has been farming with his dad for 15 years. He operates a cattle and row crop operation and owns a cedar tree removal business. Schweers looks forward to learning more about all the conservation in LCNRD and bringing his agricultural knowledge to the LCNRD Board of Directors.
LCNRD welcomes the new members, Scott, Ryan, and Tyler, and looks forward to their contributions to the Board of Directors.
