Conservation Tree Program

Each spring, the Lewis and Clark Natural Resources District (LCNRD) plants and/or distributes trees for conservation purposes including windbreaks, shelter belts, wildlife habitat, firewood plantations, and Christmas trees. Orders are taken starting November 1st for delivery the following spring and must be paid for in advance.  Many species are offered, including conifers, deciduous trees, and wildlife shrubs (for more information on the program click on the 2024 Conservation Tree Program link or the order form.

Contact the Natural Resource Conservation Service (NRCS) or the LCNRD if you want to plant a tree belt. The NRCS assists in designing a tree planting and information on available cost-share programs. The deadline for all tree orders is March 31.
