LEWIS AND CLARK NATURAL RESOURCES DISTRICT PROMOTES STEWARDSHIP WEEK
The Lewis and Clark Natural Resources District (LCNRD), in partnership with the National Association of Conservation Districts (NACD), is celebrating Stewardship Week from April 29 – May 3, 2024, focusing on the theme “May the Forest Be With You, Always” and educating about trees and forests.
Regardless of where you live, the city, the mountains, or the coast, you’ve seen a tree before and probably even sought shade beneath one. Trees play an essential role in everyone’s life. In cities and other urban environments, trees improve air quality, provide shade, and reduce stormwater runoff. Meanwhile, forests act as protectors of soil and water, preventing erosion, purifying contaminants, and nurturing healthy watersheds. Whether it’s a few trees outside your apartment, a cluster of trees in a nearby park, or a forest, trees are silently working by our side, always.
LCNRD is a member of NACD, which sponsors the annual Stewardship Week program, now in its 69th year. Stewardship Week is one of the largest national annual programs to promote conservation. LCNRD provides educational materials designed by NACD on the theme of “May the Forest Be With You, Always” at no cost to churches, schools, and other organizations.
Free, downloadable Stewardship Week resources celebrating the theme “May the Forest Be With You, Always” are available on NACD’s website at https://www.nacdnet.org/store/. For more information about Stewardship Week and conservation, contact LCNRD at 402-254-6758.
