STILL TIME TO ORDER CONSERVATION TREE SEEDLINGS

There is still time to order seedling trees for the spring 2023 conservation tree planting season. The Lewis and Clark Natural Resources District (LCNRD) will continue taking orders for tree seedlings through March 31st. The trees come in bundles of twenty-five. The price per tree is $1.20 plus sales tax.
Tree plantings provide many useful benefits, including livestock and crop protection from the wind, minimizing erosion along creeks and rivers, and minimizing wind speeds against farmsteads. See the diagram below on how a properly built healthy windbreak can cut wind speeds in half.
There has never been a better time to plant conservation trees; if you would like more information on purchasing or planting conservation trees, contact the Lewis and Clark NRD at 402-254-6758 or your local NRCS office.
