TREE SALES BEGIN!
Each spring, the Lewis and Clark Natural Resources District (LCNRD) distributes tree seedlings and provides planting services for windbreaks, shelterbelts, and wildlife habitat. Seedling orders are accepted now through March 31st. Planning assistance is available through local Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) offices for preparing tree planting plans that meet your conservation needs.
This year, seedling trees, shrubs, and native plants are $32.50 for lots of 25 per species. A small acreage package is available, including 3 Blue Spruce, 2 Bur Oak, 2 Hackberry, 5 Chokeberry, 5 American Plum, and 3 Redosier Dogwood at $37.50 per package. There is a NEW product this year, Coco Tree Mats are biodegradable, easy to install, and practical for weed control around seedlings. They are sold in lots of 25, with 3 staples per mat for $45.00, available while supplies last.
