LCNRD SEEKS LOCAL REPRESENTATIVE TO FILL VACANT SUBDISTRICT 5 SEAT
The Lewis and Clark Natural Resource District (LCNRD) seeks a local representative to fill a vacant Subdistrict 5 seat through the end of 2024. The seat will then be on the ballot for the 2024 election. Subdistrict 5 encompasses the area from Ponca to Allen and includes the communities of Allen, Martinsburg, Newcastle, Ponca, and Waterbury, including part or all of several townships in Dixon County.
Leroy Hoesing of Newcastle served on the board representing Subdistrict 5 since 1993 and was an advocate for water and soil conservation not only in his subdistrict but for the entire district. Hoesing was known to be willing to listen to both sides of the issues related to LCNRD and will be missed on the Board of Directors. Hoesing announced his resignation at the April 20th board meeting.
All registered voters residing in Subdistrict 5 with an interest in helping LCNRD maintain and protect natural resources can apply to fill the vacant seat. The application process is simple and requires only a written submission that includes your name, address, phone number, and describes why you would be a good board member. If you are interested in serving on the LCNRD Board of Directors submit the information above prior to July 14th to PO Box 518, Hartington, NE 68739, or email to lcnrd@hartel.net.
